Alka spent 14 years as a medical transcriptionist, climbing the ranks to become a quality analyst. Her career, which began in 2004, was a testament to her dedication and hard work. However, the COVID-19 pandemic turned her world upside down. With her children’s online classes demanding her attention, she made the tough decision to leave her job. It wasn’t easy to step away from a career she had nurtured for so long, but Alka’s resilience would soon shine through.

After months of sitting idle and feeling a void, Alka had an idea that would change their lives. She, a naturally creative and crafty individual with a passion for transforming discarded items into beautiful creations, decided to turn her love for decoration into a business.

In October 2023, House of Sunshine was born – a venture that began with home décor products like vases, statues, paintings, metal art, and festive decorations.

Starting small, Alka stored her stock at home and showcased her creations at local exhibitions. The response was overwhelming. Her unique designs and dedication to quality resonated with customers which encouraged her to expand her offerings.

Growing Beyond Expectations

In just 1 year, House of Sunshine has grown into a thriving business. Alka has participated in 69 exhibitions across Chandigarh, Panchkula & Mohali, showcasing her products in venues like Kisan Bhawan, Himachal Bhawan, Chandigarh Club, and DLF Avenue. With each exhibition, her confidence grew, and so did her business.

House of Sunshine now offers an extensive range of products, including women’s accessories like handbags, branded watches, jewellery, and even unstitched suits and sweatshirts. Alka’s journey from home décor to a diverse product line reflects her adaptability and commitment to meeting her customers’ needs.
